I'll be on sometime between 3 and 5.30pm, along with The Flamingo Brothers and Adrian Legg.
I'll be playing support to the great fingerstyle guitarist Duck Baker (http://www.duckbaker.com) -- an honour if ever there was one!
As my original gig for this date at the nearby Loft Bistro & Venue had to be cancelled due to essential maintenance work being carried out on the venue, I'll instead be doing a half-hour support slot for Sarah-Jane Summers & Ewan McPherson (check them out on http://www.myspace.com/sarahjanesummers1). I know the venue well having played there in February 2007 as headliner! Am looking forward to the return visit and to hearing Sarah-Jane and Ewan.
The lovely Pamela Wyn Shannon (see http://www.girlhenge.com and/or http://www.myspace.com/pamelawynshannon for more info and music) will be my support act at this gig. I'm honoured!
Part of the 4th Perthshire Amber Festival: www.perthshireamber.com. The evening will also feature the final of the Niel Gow International Fiddle Composition Award (six finalists each playing their tune). Tickets also available online via www.thebooth.co.uk.
A double bill with my great friend, the wonderful singer, guitarist and songwriter Danny Guinan (www.dannyguinan.com). Info and tickets from Stichting Irish Folk Limburg, Pastoor Vonckenstraat 29, 6166 CV Geleen, Netherlands, +31 46 474 6735.
A very special double bill with Niamh Parsons (www.niamhparsons.com). Niamh has been a great friend to me for years and was kind enough to duet with me on my first album, so you never know -- we might even sing a few songs together!
Also appearing in this very special double bill will be the lovely Linde Nijland and Bert Ridderbos. I first met Linde and Bert at a concert I did in Holland in January 2008. Since then I've had the immense pleasure of seeing them perform live at the Bodmin Folk Club here in Cornwall, and the even greater pleasure of having them as houseguests for a few days at the end of their UK tour. See www.lindenijland.nl for more info and lots of heartbreakingly lovely singing and playing. From now until the beginning of December, Linde and Bert are on an amazing-sounding road trip to Bhutan, with plenty of music along the way -- keep an eye on http://roadtobhutanmusic.wordpress.com for all the latest news of the journey!
Had a WONDERFUL gig here in January 2008 -- definitely one of the nicest venues I've ever played -- so I can't wait to go back!
I will be playing support to Scotland's illustrious Battlefield Band (www.battlefieldband.co.uk)!
Benefit for St James's Church Restoration Fund.
I'll be doing a double bill with the excellent Cornish band Dalla (www.dalla.co.uk).
This will be my third visit in as many years to this lovely venue. Always a pleasure!
DADGAD Guitar workshop from 10.30am to 12 noon.
Admission price includes a glass of wine and light refreshments. This is a beautiful property owned by the National Trust -- I played here in the spring of 2008 and had a lovely short walk round, am looking forward to a further exploration on the return trip!
This will be my second visit to this lovely new venue, which needs all the support it can get. Tell your friends!
